China's ferrosilicon production decreased by 5% in November

In a survey conducted by Hainan West Asia Group, the ferro silicon production of 136 Chinese smelters reversed the growth trend of the previous month in November, with a month on month decrease of 25978 tons to 481703 tons, a decrease of 5.1%. Sampling smelters have 95% of China's ferrosilicon smelting capacity.

The survey results show that in November, the average daily production of ferrosilicon from sampled smelters was 16057 tons, a decrease of 320 tons or 2% compared to the previous month.

Hainan West Asia Group learned that the results indicate that many domestic ferrosilicon smelters slowed down their production speed last month as further declines in ferroalloy prices squeezed their profit margins.

This month, domestic prices of ferrosilicon are expected to continue to face pressure as the production of finished steel by Chinese steel mills may further decrease, resulting in little support for demand for ferrosilicon.

In the first 11 months of this year, out of 136 Chinese smelters surveyed, China's total production of ferrosilicon reached 5.05 million tons, a decrease of 7.6% compared to the same period last year.
