In early autumn, the prices of basic alloys in the European market decreased

The lack of consumer interest in Europe, coupled with the seller's large inventory of alloys, has forced the latter to lower the prices of manganese alloys and ferrosilicon.

The expectation of market participants for the recovery of consumer interest after the holiday has not been realized; The business activities in the manganese alloy field are still extremely low. Therefore, the quotation for silicon manganese (65% Mn; 17% Si) is 1100-1150 euros/ton DDP (a week ago it was 1150-1200 euros/ton DDP), and the quotation for high carbon manganese iron (75% Mn) is 1120-1170 euros/ton DDP (previously it was 1170-1220 euros/ton DDP). According to market participants, local bidding has just begun, and spot trading activities are completely non-existent. In this regard, with fierce competition among sellers, prices have decreased. A European trader said, 'Sellers have accumulated a considerable amount of alloys in their warehouses, Indian suppliers are continuously lowering prices, manganese ore prices have plummeted, and we are still in a stage of reduced consumption. We may not see the traditional autumn demand recovery this year.'“

The price of silicon iron (75% Si) has dropped to 1360-1400 euros/ton DDP (previously 1390-1420 euros/ton DDP). The market is discussing selling the alloy at a price of 1330 euros/ton DDP. European producers reported that the demand in the market is negligible, and consumer inquiries are quite low, not exceeding 1350 euros/ton EXW.
