Recarburizer

The carbon-containing substances added to make up for the carbon content burned during the steel smelting process are called carburizers.

Hainan West Asia Import and Export Group reminds you of the following points regarding the use of carburizing agents:

1. Carburizer adding time

If the carburizing agent is added too early, it is easy to make it adhere to the bottom of the furnace, and the carburizing agent attached to the furnace wall is not easy to be melted into the molten iron. On the contrary, if the adding time is too late, the opportunity of carburization will be lost, resulting in the delay of smelting and heating time.

2. Reserve part of the molten iron

Do not run out of the molten iron in the furnace, reserve part of the molten iron, and then add carburant, iron filings, scrap steel, etc. Adding the carburizing agent directly to the bottom of the furnace will cause too much burning loss of the carburizing agent. It is better to reserve a part of the molten iron at the bottom of the furnace to add it, or you can also put a part of the iron pins at the bottom of the furnace, which will allow higher absorption.

3. Don’t join at once

When adding, you need to add it several times, put about a bag of molten iron into the bag, and then go back to the furnace to flush the carburizing agent 1-2 times, then break the slag and add alloy. Adding too much amount of plastic carbon at one time may make it difficult to absorb the carburizer; too much ash in the carburant, uneven particle distribution; too much nitrogen in the carburant, resulting in too much nitrogen in the finished product, etc. question.
